Deontay Wilder had an amazing opportunity tonight to show that he is still deserving of being called one of the best heavyweights in the world. But the talented Joseph Parker had other plans after hearing Wilder planned on leaving Parker on the mat.
"Bring a pillow and a blanket because I'm putting him to sleep" Wilder had said before he got completely outclassed by Joseph. Many have seen the way Wilder has won his fights, mostly via KO and some even in the last round showing he does hold power throughout the whole match. Parker seemed to have studies Wilders tactics and out-boxed the Bronze Bomber better than even Ortiz did a few years back.
Wilder could not do anything to Parker on the inside and it's a shame to see that Deontay Wilder has not yet fixed the wholes in his game because the world was waiting to see him against Anthony Joshua should they both win their respective fights. Parker landed all the punches he wanted against Wilder, but does the boxing community believe he can do the same against the top dogs in the game?
Anthony Joshua Redeemed
I think the whole world has counted Anthony Joshua out after his back to back devastating loss to Usyk, even Joshua himself. Since then, he's been seen almost playing the heel after that last bell rung. At the press conference you could tell he had a chip on his shoulder and for good reason. In this fight he pushed the pace more than he's done as of late, showing superior head movement and anticipation. Otto Wallin tried as he could to get the counter but Anthony Joshua was the all around better boxer this time.
He kept it classy when asked about Deontay Wilder, said he knows he'll be back better than ever.
