Mansur Abdul-Malik entered Dana White's Contender Series 67 with significant anticipation and did not disappoint.
In Tuesday's main event at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Abdul-Malik (6-0) remained undefeated by finishing Wes Schultz (6-2) with a series of ground-and-pound elbows at 3:55 of Round 3.
The bout was a thrilling contest from start to finish. Both fighters, with strong wrestling backgrounds, showcased their skills, but Abdul-Malik proved to be the superior grappler. Schultz displayed agility, attempting flashy strikes and landing a few solid shots on Abdul-Malik.
However, it was Abdul-Malik's relentless elbows that ultimately secured the victory, forcing referee Herb Dean to step in and stop the fight.
After the match, Dana White entered the cage to commend both fighters for their efforts.
With this win, Abdul-Malik, 26, continues his unbeaten streak and has yet to go to a judge's' decision. On the other hand, Schultz, 28, saw his three-fight winning streak come to an end.
