UFC Fight Night: W Mexico

Mexico's legacy in combat sports is unparalleled, boasting a lineage of electrifying fighters who have left an indelible mark on the world stage. The UFC, recognizing this rich heritage, has actively sought to harness this excitement by spotlighting top Mexican talent in their fight cards.

Tonight, the spotlight shone brightly on Team Mexico, kicking off with Manuel "El Loco" Torres delivering a masterful submission victory over Chris Duncan, effortlessly showcasing his prowess in the octagon.

The adrenaline-fueled action continued as Tijuana's own Yazmin Jauregui engaged in a grueling showdown against Sam Hughes, a battle that undoubtedly vied for the title of Fight of the Night.

Despite Francisco Prado's pre-fight prominence, a cut above his eyelid proved to be his Achilles' heel in the third round, leading to a hard-fought decision victory for Daniel Zellhuber.

The highly anticipated clash between rising star Raul Rosas Jr. and Ultimate Fighter champion Ricky Turcios was postponed due to Rosas Jr.'s reported illness, leaving fans eagerly anticipating their showdown on next week's Las Vegas card.

Brian Ortega faced a rocky return, narrowly avoiding injury during his entrance. Despite Yair Rodriguez's dominant performance in the opening round, Ortega showcased his resilience and grappling expertise, securing a submission victory in rounds two and three.

In the main event, Brandon Royval staged a triumphant comeback, clinching a hard-earned split decision win over former champion Brandon Moreno. Royval wasted no time in setting his sights on Pantoja, displaying his unwavering determination and cardio prowess as he signaled his readiness to vie for the title. Moreno struggled to match Royval's striking power, ultimately falling short in a contest of sheer will and skill.
