"Is Kambosas a one hit wonder or is he a guy that took advantage of a night Teofimo Lopez wasn't himself"
Top Rank fighters put on a show tonight but I was mostly interested in Kayshawn Davis' night out and Kambosas return to the ring. Keyshawn is our top boxing prospect, having future hall of famers in his corner has obviously become an advantage for the young fighter. Keyshawn has had tremendous support from Shakur Stevenson and Terrance "Bud" Crawford which has created an aurora of confidence around him.
Just like all his pro appearances Keyshawn demonstrated his intelligence and his supreme conditioning getting the unanimous win decision against his opponent. After the match Shakur was seen standing next to his friend to celebrate with him.
Kambosas may not be seen as the same fighter after tonight thanks to Maxie Hughes masterclass performance. Hop on the bandwagon now because Hughes just took Kambosas' shine away beating him unanimously in multiple rounds. Kambosas was landing at an awfully low rate and by round 8 commentators said he needed a knockout but hadn't had one since 2019 " You do the math". These were things they were saying during the fight as we got closer to the end.
As the score cards were read everyone was pretty confident it was going to be Hughes hands down. In a surprise result Kambosas gets the victory through majority decision. The crowd disapproved as loud as they could. When asked if he'd give Hughes a rematch Kambosas did not sound too willing.
One of these judges had the fight scored a draw! Another judge gave the last half to Kambosas and the list goes on with this controversial decision. With Kambosas not looking back and Devin Haney rumored to drop his undisputed status to go up a division the 135 pound landscape is taking another shape. Shakur made it clear that he didn't think Kambosas could contend with him and said it to his face after the fight. Shakur says he only wants to fight the greats and Kambosas is just not on that level.
