On the night of March 3rd, 2023, Rivalta Boxing put on a spectacular event that delivered exciting fights and left fans feeling like they got their money's worth. Dubbed "March Madness", this event showcased some of the best fighters from around the world, and Rivalta Boxing should be commended for how smoothly the event went.
One of the standout performances of the night came from Brayan Leon, who moved to 2-0 with a TKO victory over a very strong opponent in Miller. The young Leon was too sharp for Miller, landing consecutive body shots that eventually led to Miller being unable to stand back up.
Another impressive performance came from Fernando Cuza Taquechel, who made short work of his opponent William Vandervier. Cuza's power was the defining factor in this match, with every shot sending Vandervier flying. It proved to be too much for Vandervier in the end.
In a controversial decision win, Alexander Hernandez edged out Jaime Arredondo. Hernandez was noticeably tired in rounds 2 and 3, but he managed to hold on against a young bull who just kept coming forward.
Nestor Santana also had an easy night, with a first-round finish of his opponent Marcus Maulding. Nestor fought bravely and threw bombs every time he opened up, proving he would not be denied on this night.
Victor Darocha went the distance with Lawrence Gabriel, who seemed to be the bigger fighter. However, Gabriel couldn't get his rhythm against the tricky Spartan. Darocha had Gabriel hurt multiple times, and the crowd was chanting "let's go Victor" throughout the match. It was a big win for Miami.
Yordan Barrera gave Nicaragua's Wiston Campos the fight of his life. Barrera was the cleaner and smarter puncher, dodging and moving easily every time Campos went for countershots or tried to attack. It was a great display of martial arts from fighters from around the world.
Finally, in the main event, star fighter Anthony "White Chocolate" Martinez won the NABA silver heavyweight championship with a unanimous decision over Santander Gelez. Martinez was dominant throughout the match, showcasing his skills and leaving no doubt about who the better fighter was.
Overall, Rivalta Boxing's "March Madness" event was a huge success. The fights were exciting, the fighters were impressive, and the crowd was super lit. While we may have just watched people fight and punch each other, it was a great display of martial arts from fighters from around the world.
