PFL Playoffs: Semifinals Set Stage for High-Stakes Featherweight and Welterweight Showdowns

Washington D.C. - August 23, 2024 – The Professional Fighters League (PFL) delivered an electrifying night of MMA action from The Anthem in Washington, D.C., concluding the 2024 PFL Global Playoffs. The event featured high-stakes matchups across the Featherweight and Welterweight divisions, with fighters battling for a coveted spot in the PFL World Championship.





In the evening's headline bout, Brendan Loughnane edged out Kai Kamaka III in a closely contested split decision, earning his place in the 2024 Featherweight Championship. Loughnane’s precise striking and strategic game plan overcame Kamaka’s relentless pressure. He now faces the undefeated Timur Khizriev, who secured his spot in the final after a hard-fought split-decision win over Gabriel Braga.

The co-main event saw Magomed Umalatov maintain his unbeaten streak with a unanimous decision victory over Neiman Gracie. Umalatov's well-rounded performance showcased his grappling and striking abilities, securing him a place in the finals against Shamil Musaev, who dominated Murad Ramazanov in a rematch from the regular season.

The undercard featured several notable performances, including Mukhamed Berkhamov’s split decision victory over former two-time PFL champion Ray Cooper III in his PFL debut. Featherweight contender Enrique Barzola also impressed with a unanimous decision win over Tyler Diamond, while Jose Perez extended his winning streak with a dominant decision over Jesse Stirn. Maxwell Djantou Nana continued his knockout streak with a second-round TKO over Kent Mafileo, and Shido Boris Esperanca kicked off the night with a first-round TKO victory over Tyler Hill.
