The new Heavyweight landscape
was set yesterday (1/14/2023) when Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane was leaked and then later announced by Dana white at a presser. Shortly after, we get breaking news about Ngannou being released from the UFC. Fans are torn apart right now after discovering this because everyone had been led to believe Jones would eventually fight Ngannou this year. There are many questions in the air still even after the presser. Dana says they offered him the best possible deal and that it'd make him the highest-paid UFC heavyweight of all time, even above Brock Lesnar. Ngannou still "allegedly" declined this offer and chose to vacate and now is being offered contracts left and right. Jake Paul supposedly sent him a two-fight deal this morning stating they would have a boxing match and then an MMA match 6 months later. Promotions worldwide are lining up and sending their proposals but fans know that the best match-up has escaped us.
Jon Jones Will now debut at heavyweight on March 4th. This is a critical blow to the UFC since Gane already had his shot at the title against Ngannou making this new match almost illegitimate. Jon opened up as favorite today and rightfully so. Here at Fighting-Yo, we predict a chess match fight with Jones taking the decision easily. Stay tuned for more guys!
