Karate Combat's next show is just a day away now and they've changed things up this time after having three back-to-back shows in Miami. Now in the beautiful country of the Dominican Republic, the team has put together a great card including many Dominican fighters and the debut of former UFC contender "Smilin" Sam Alvey.
April 1, 2023-- After a brutal weight cut the most anticipated bantamweight match was called off as Jesus Lopez was hauled off to the emergency room. This is an unfortunate reality in the combat sports world, draining the body of water and doing everything else possible to get their weight down to their respective fight weight. Lopez lost his chance at Karate Combat gold and Chelmiah sat on the bench waiting to defend his title .. until now!
If contender Myrza Tebuev can succeed against the champion Eoghan Chelmiah, it will probably go down as the biggest comeback story in Karate Combat history, maybe in combat sports history. After suffering a terrifying injury against none other than Jesus Lopez, that split his skull and still coming out the victor, 'The King' is back. After a year of recovery he's immediately fighting for the belt which may turn some heads but we're guessing the promotion is not ready to make Chelmiah vs Lopez again.

The combat sports world has exploded with many different promotions and fighters giving way to a new era where athletes have more options than just the UFC. We've seen many fighters make the transition and that's inspired other fighters to find their home where ever it may be. Which brings us to 'Smilin' Sam Alvey former UFC contender and all around nice guy, whom is looking to make his debut tomorrow for Karate Combat 41 against a already active Karate Combat fighter Adam Rosa Ramos. Ramos is making his heavyweight debut but make no mistake this is not a easy fight for Alvey and he'll atleast be tested this first time around.
