Karate Combat 39 When friends become foes

It's truly a bittersweet circumstance when two friends find themselves competing against each other. The stage is set for their epic showdown this Saturday night.

Miami, Fl-- Yesterday Karate Combat kicked off fight week with a media press conference at the Even Hotel in Miami. We got to see the KC fam and fighters from other promotions. First up were Jonathan Broad and Will Esparza. Esparza taking this fight on short notice was unaware that Broad had a %100 finish rate prior to signing.

Karate Combat has recently welcomed four formidable heavyweight fighters to its roster, each hailing from diverse promotions and various corners of the globe. These exceptional additions promise to bring an electrifying new dynamic to the competition. Especially with guys like Cody Jerabek who have been in places like the UFC octagon against world-class martial artists.

Things really heated up when Goatshed gym fighter, Shahzaib Rindh and his coach Asim Zaidi entered the room. Rindh wanted all the smoke saying that his opponent the Frenchman Tommy Azouz was going to be running away the whole time. Azouz Corner didn't take too kindly to what was said and started bringing the smoke to him. Almost getting into a scuffle right there ahead of their fight.

We got blessed with special guest appearances by fighters like Karate Combat Middleweight Champion Ross "Turbo" Levine. Also on stage was Welterweight Champion Joshua Quayhagen. Both gave us time and we got to see what they've been up to since both their fights, respectively. We also saw UFC welterweights Daniel Rodriguez and Ian Garry who just fought a week ago and seem to have become friends. Both fighters came to support their friend Sasha Palatnikov who is fighting "The Human Highlight reel" Raymond Daniels.

When it came time to bring out the main eventers, it almost felt light hearted. The fighters expressed how they were good friends and were very honest when answering questions about their respective styles. The narrative going into this fight is that Bruno Souza can be a slow starter but the longer the fight goes the more of an advantage he wields against the incredibly strong Pitbull Rocha. Luiz Rocha was asked when do the smiles end?
