Karate Combat 38 Impresses Miami Crowd, End with a KO!

Last nights (04/01/2023) Karate Combat 38 event in Miami reminded the world that they have elite strikers within their ranks. Wonderboy Thompson and former UFC champion Bas Rutten led the commentary and Robin Black was on stage. Together with an incredible production team were able to intrigue fans old and young with a new way of running a fight promotion. This was a real "vibe" for Miami attendees too as many got to rub shoulders with fighters and felt very close to all the action. They weren't kiddin' when they said there is not a bad seat in the house. As casual and hardcore fans were brought together Fightingyo.com was there behind the scenes, taking shots and chopping it up with fighters and trainers.

The kickoff fight indicated the night would be brutal as Gustavo and Dona threw heavy shots that could be heard even from the furthest corners of the room at each other in a very messy but entertaining fight nonetheless. There were eye pokes and groin shots on both sides but it didn't stop fighters from finishing the battle and both were still respectful afterward with the crowd pleased I'd say that's a successful open. Dionico Gustavo emerges the winner by decision. As the night continued on we'd go on to see Lavoie vs Villa was also action-packed Lavoie having Villa in trouble with some intense ground-and-pound karate style. Although bleeding more he wins a decision after a sudden death round which is a breath of fresh air for any real fight fan. A surprise round can really change the dynamics of a fight almost making it a different game.

The fight of the night for the attendees was no doubt the battle of the Brunos! Entrances were electrifying as Souza came out first and received all the love from the crowd as usual. Assis was more intense was he came out and let out his battle cry which everyone heard and cheered. As the fighters entered the pit and settled in the crowd knew this match would be so much fun and that it was. It was a back-and-forth fight that became a technical showcase of real karate. With neither fighter backing down, they resorted to the big guns and threw spinning back fists, spinning roundhouse kicks to the head, and front kicks. Both fighters showed supernatural agility and endurance and should be considered world-class strikers today if there was any doubt. Luis Rocha entered the ring and challenged Souza after his win and fans are definitely going to be asking for that very soon.

"Turbo
Turbo
Turbo"

Ross "Turbo" Levine closed the night with a knockout over his opponent in a fight that was not as competitive as we thought it'd be. Turbo had Castaneda falling around the pit and even let him get back up on his own accord. When Castaneda tried to turn it up Turbo finished it with a blazing hook upstairs that instantly took Igor out. So much respect to all fighters we left yelling Turbo though. We'd love to thank Karate Combat for the hospitality and the great moments shared. Miami now has a better understanding of the sport today and is ready for the next event in May.
